Stewardship

"We desire to reflect this sacrificial love through our stewardship of God's blessings in our lives, living and giving for the sake of others."

At St. John’s, we believe that everything we have has been entrusted to us by God. We are stewards, and good stewardship means using that which has been entrusted to us in ways that reflect the values of the owner, rather than the steward.

Jesus exemplifies these values. In 2 Corinthians 8:9, Paul says, "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor so that you by his poverty might become rich."

As we consider all God has entrusted to us—such as our time, energy, gifts, talents, possessions—we do so in the light of the unmatched generosity of Jesus, who gave up everything for us. We desire to reflect this sacrificial love through our stewardship of God's blessings in our lives, living and giving for the sake of others.
